Nintex wants to move you itself: to Nintex Automation K2
Nintex itself advises its existing Nintex for SharePoint customers to switch – namely to its own successor product, Nintex Automation K2. Two reasons argue against taking this path without careful thought: First, even Nintex offers no automated migration path from Nintex for SharePoint to Nintex Automation K2 – all workflows have to be rebuilt manually anyway. Second, existing customers report significantly higher license costs compared to their previous Nintex license.

Frequently asked questions about the Nintex End of Life
What happens to Nintex for SharePoint after 14 July 2026?
On that day, Microsoft ends extended support for SharePoint Server 2016 and 2019. Nintex on-premise workflows keep running technically, but no longer receive security updates and lose their compliance cover. Every new vulnerability stays open permanently.
Can I simply keep Nintex running?
Technically yes – the software doesn't stop on its own. In practice, however, you would be running business-critical processes on infrastructure that is no longer patched. For companies with audit or certification obligations (e.g. ISO 27001, GDPR), this is a compliance risk that is hard to justify in an audit.
What is the best alternative to Nintex on-premises?
It depends on your environment. As a BPMN 2.0 platform, FireStart is designed to run on-premise, in the cloud, or hybrid – giving even companies with strict data-residency requirements a direct replacement for Nintex on-premise, without vendor lock-in.
How do I migrate from Nintex to FireStart?
We start with a free analysis of your existing Nintex workflows, prioritize by business criticality, and create a tailored migration plan with an effort estimate and timeline.
How long does a migration to FireStart take?
The first processes usually go live within 2–4 weeks. The total duration depends on the number and complexity of your existing Nintex workflows.
Will my existing SharePoint environment be affected by the switch?
No. FireStart integrates natively with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, so existing systems and data remain untouched while processes are migrated to FireStart step by step.
